Is This The New Home Kit?

Is this the hotly anticipated new West Ham United home kit? The design for the upcoming season is not due for official release until later this month, but this mock-up has been floating around the web for the last few days. It is based on the existing newly released Umbro templates, and is probably as accurate a guess as is currently available.

In other news, the football TV schedules for the first four months of the 2008/09 season were released by Sky and Setanta today. The Hammers will play before the cameras a total of five times before Christmas, with four appearances on Sky and just one on Setanta. The new look United will make their debut in front of the TV cameras on the second weekend of the season when they visit Manchester City. Further away games feature the trips to Sunderland and Liverpool, whilst the home games being shown live are the matches against Bolton and Arsenal.

Sunday, 24th August: Man City (a) 4:00pm (Sky Sports), Sunday, 5th October: Bolton (h) 1:30pm (Sky Sports), Sunday, 26th October: Arsenal (h) 4:00pm (Sky Sports), Sunday, 23rd November: Sunderland (a) 4:00pm (Sky Sports), Monday, 1st December: Liverpool (a) 8:00pm (Setanta)

I thought we only get a new home kit every two years?
Its usually the away one which changes on a yearly bases, never known for the home one to..
Are you sure we are getting a new one?

I am absolutely sure, although I can't find the press release to confirm it at the moment. From memory, when Umbro and XL signed a 3yr deal last year it was announced that there would be a home kit lasting one season, followed by a home kit (this one) lasting 2 seasons.

If you phone the club they will confirm the kit is coming but won't be drawn on a date as yet!

unless the shirt manufacturer changes, we should alternate changing the home and away shirts every year, we got a new away kit this year so the home shirt should change next year. anything other than that just rips us fans off and puts us on a level with man utd's rip off shirt turnover. everyone should buy a leisure shirt or a retro one so that we don't keep having to get ripped off. this is yet another example of the club not caring about it's real fans, just like the season ticket prices.

Personally I prefer being able to don a fresh kit each year.

There is a new home kit every season. On top of that the Away kit has to change every season, it changes colour from white, navy blue and sky blue as you have to have a different colour away shirt every season to use the previous season's away shirt as a third kit.
This new home kit looks exactly the same as the current one though.

It could be the New Home kit, it looks ok, Most teams change their kit each season now, West Hams tradition with away kits is 1 year white, following year blue (light or dark)

after zooming in on the kit 400% The kit you have displayed has been graphicaly designed, the shorts will not have the same type of material pattern as the shirt, but saying that, the actual design could be correct. i still like it. good graffix work.

You what? I gotta buy another kit? it's all good having a fresh kit but ive spent near on £100 on tops in the past year and now they are out of date. It's a waste of money if you ask me. soon i think they will make both home and away change each season because they know that's how they can make extra money. With the umbro deal being exclusive aswell, so you have to pay £50 and not £25 from sports soccer or Tesco, they are raking it in. It's shrude business from the big men at WHUPLC, and It's cool if it makes my team bring in better players, but they are pricing out the average fan and soon the sport of the people could become the sport of the rich, well if you wantto support your team anyway.

I made that kit :p
As the text next to it says it is a mock although I am pretty certain the shirt will look like that

joe j- I did make it clear it is only a mock-up. It's only intended to show what the new kit will probably look like.

jackhammer- it's good to hear from the man responsible for the fantastic picture. If I'd know before I would've surely credited you.

Marleeeeeen depreciation society & e6_2rb- I agree entirely with your sentiments.

It looks nothing like last years...
Plus it's a mock, kit might look completely different

jackhammer- I think I got the picture from the KUMB forum but it's been on several others, including the BBC, since it appeared here.

Reckon it'll be more like this actually because of the "mock collar"
