Hammerettes Make Life Worthwhile

A friendly look, a kindly smile,
One good act, and life's worthwhile...
One small item of interest that slipped out largely unnoticed on transfer window day was the news that the Hammerettes are being linked with a return to Upton Park. Now, this is a story that seems to come round every few months without actually leading anywhere but the current rumours appear slightly more substantial than normal. Anyway, I was asked to give a little bit of promotion to the 'Bring the Hammerettes back to Upton Park' campaign, which currently has over a 1000 members on its Facebook site. If anybody knows the value of harmless titillation in these times of economic austerity and footballing ennui then it must be the 'Double Ds'. So if you want to give Messrs Gold and Sullivan a gentle nudge in the right direction, and lend your support to this worthwhile cause, then you know where to go.

In all honesty is this the kind of puerile, exploitative material you should be featuring on your blog? Do West Ham fans really want to be subjected to such facile material as this? I would've thought your supporters had more important things to be concerned about.

To the person who posted at 23.25- the objectification of women should never be encouraged. To get females to dance for the sole purpose of being ogled by men degrades us all. If you want to revive some traditional match day entertainment then bring back the brass band.

Stone me, who let the lesbian in here?

Are they being exploited/expoiting themselves any more than the average girl band?

Benji- I'm a lesbian and I find that kind of stereotyping to be very offensive.

I'm all for the return of the Hammerettes but ideally, not the drag acts pictured.
